Anyone with a young child knows that if there is spilled paint, or mud, or goop anywhere near their vicinity, it will end up on their clothes, and most likely stain it. This is my girl's new white denim skirt. This is some lovely paint for plastics. Guess what? It doesn't come out. This photo is the skirt after 3 washings, WITH bleach. Joy. So, I found an adorable patch from Kat's Magical Patches. When I received the patch, I noted how soft the patch was, so I knew right away that it would not irritate my daughter. This is a good thing. She objects to things that are too stiff or scratchy. I was worried, because the patch I chose is somewhat pastel. I started to dig through my scrap fabrics to find a white lining fabric to go behind the patch. This was NOT necessary! The patch is so beautifully made and rich in color saturation, that it covers the dark staining perfectly. No lining needed! I get my soft pastel colors, and no extra work! Bonus!

As long as I was digging through my fabrics, I pulled out materials to embellish the skirt, so it would be fit for a mermaid princess.
This is when my world fell apart. My house needed some work; All stuff went to the garage, and my ceiling came down. But I really wanted to get started, so I dug out my needle and thread...and started working by hand. I have arthritis in my fingers, so handwork takes me a little longer *sigh*. Again, I have nothing but praise for this patch, as my needle moves very smoothly through the patch, adding no bulk to the denim. This is a good thing as denim is already thick enough!

Again...I have nothing but praise for Kat's Magical Patches!! I JUST (literally), pulled the skirt and trims from the wash...There was NO bleeding and no color loss. I am tremendously impressed with this! (it looks lighter in this photo because I am a bad photographer who needs lessons on lighting things LOL, so you will have to trust me!) I will keep updating as I go along! But so far, I cannot say enough wonderful about these patches. I already have plans in place for a baby birth announcement using these patches, and a book cover! The crafter in me is so excited!!

This is a cute way to repair a skirt for a child or to cover up stains. Jen used a patch that was designed by Melia Newman.

thank you for submitting your project, Jen we can't wait to see more.

Meet Shona MacDonald

Born in 1968, I have lived most of my life on the North East coast of England. I was an only child and enjoyed the solitude which enabled me to spend a lot of time reading, drawing and 'making things'. My father was keen on model railways and making model air-fix kits, while my mother and both grandmothers were skilled in crafts of all kinds. Between them all they taught me drawing, painting, model-making, sewing and embroidery, all of which have contributed to my art at one time or another.
I was an avid reader as a child and was always to be found with my nose in a fantasy or horror novel. As a teenager, prompted by the themes in the novels I enjoyed, I began to study folklore, mythological and occult texts, finding yet more inspiration in their pages.
Over the years I have found myself drawn more and more to the subjects of faeries and nature spirits, old pagan gods and wild woods, and this is what most of my art is about - those forgotten places and creatures that live on the edges of our vision and our dreams.
I now live in a small Victorian terraced flat about ten minutes walk from the Tynemouth headland and the sea with my fiance Ivan, and our three cats, where I try to spend as much of my time painting as possible.

Watercolour has always been my favourite medium, working in layers to achieve the richest colours possible. I use Winsor and Newton Artists watercolours on 140lb paper or watercolour board and synthetic brushes (I don't care how many people tell me that there's nothing better than real sable brushes for water colour, I could never use them.)
I'm also fond of working with pen and ink, using fine nibbed Rotring pens and dipping pens for drawing, and teaching myself some basic calligraphy with broad nibbed pens.

Shona's Patches

Shona's Iron Ons

Shona's Canvas ACEO's

Website

Meet Kathy Jeffords

Hi, there, my name is Kathy Jeffords.
In the past, I've had a WIDE variety of jobs. I've been a waitress, teacher, & a legal assistant, just to name a few.
When I was a teacher, I said, "Someday, I wanted to have my own crafty business, to be a writer and an artist for a living."
When I was a legal assistant, I said, "Someday, I want to have my own crafty business, to be a writer and an artist for a living."
And once upon a time, and long, long, long time ago, in a land not so very far away, when I was a waitress, I said, "Being a waitress SUCKS."
But that's really neither here nor there, because the point is:
A few years ago, I woke up one day, and suddenly, it WAS someday...suddenly, I get to make my living as an artist, I have my own crafty business, and though I'm not writing nearly as much as I'd like right now, stringing words together, making up stories are a huge part of who I am, so most of my paintings have a story to go along with them.
Right now, The Dreamy Giraffe's focus is on paintings and prints, but I have big plans for my product line to grow and grow to include all sorts of pretty, dreamy, sparkly things.
The recent past has brought quite a bit of struggle and pain to my life (including losing my father) and my personal losses and heartaches actually only push me to be more positive. This world comes with a lot of bad stuff...I want to do my little part to counteract that by putting as much hopeful, cheerful, playful, colorful stuff out into the universe as I can. I hope my art, The Dreamy Giraffe Collection, does that. I just want to make you smile, because everything IS going to be all right. You are stronger than you think you are. If you can't find joy in the big things right now, try to find some joy in the small things and work your way up.

Kathy's Patches

Kathy's Iron Ons

Meet Victoria Griffin

Victoria Griffin was born in March of 1972 and raised among the mountains of the southeastern United States.Mainly a self-taught artist, Victoria embarked upon her creative explorations at a very early age (occasionally to be spotted scribbling on walls hidden behind doors). Tales of fantasy and folklore fueled her life-long facination with the paranormal and metaphysical realm. The creatures of Faerie soon became her Muses. The main focus of her art has been to offer others a glimpse beyond the Veil and into their world. She works primarily with ink and watercolors to create her images. Her artwork appeared on the covers of "Aquarius: A Sign of The Times" and "The Circle of Stones Journal", as well as in the books 500 Fairy Motifs, Visions of Atlantis, Art of the Business of Fantasy Art and the cover of the fourth edition of the science book Information Resources in Toxicology.Aside from her art, Victoria is also a photographer, published poet and former radio disc-jockey.

Victoria's Iron Ons

Victoria's Patches

Website

Facebook

Meet Kim Dreyer

'Creating is what I do best, what I am born to do. I live it and breathe it! I have been drawing and creating from a very young age. Through the years my choice of mediums has changed from pencil, to ink, to acrylic, clay and now digital painting. Nestled amongst the majestic mountains in the tranquil village of Montagu, South Africa, you will find my studio where I create a unique range spiritual and fantasy paintings as well as unique 'wearable art' jewelry. In both my art and jewelry I try to reflect a sense of love and beauty, spirit and soul. It is important to me that my creations are not only visually pleasing but are imbued with a sense of spirit, nature and love - and touch the viewer and/or wearer on a deeper level. Most of my artworks carry through my love for nature and of life. Through my art I connect to the spirit, the soul and mother nature and it is my hope that you feel that connection through my art too. We live on a beautiful planet and need to learn to love, respect and preserve all life on beautiful Mother Earth.'

Kim's Patches

Kim's Iron Ons

Meet Selina Fenech

Once upon a time, on the night of a full moon, in a small country town in Australia in 1981 a girl was born with a vast imagination. She was given the name Selina, meaning “Moon”, named after the moon that shone that night.
As a child Selina loved to read. Her favourite stories were those of myth and magic, princesses and fairies. She soon learned she had a greater love than reading when she would spend countless hours staring at the illustrations in these books, ignoring the stories told in words in preference of the stories shown by the artworks. She would study each brush stroke, marvelling that any human hand could create such beauty. The images enchanted her, bewitched her, and filled her head with magic and romance.Having always enjoyed drawing, Selina began to create artworks of her own ideas of fantasy inspired by the illustrations in her fairytale books, with goddesses, fairies and enchanted creatures. She grew up continually trying to improve her art and create that same magical feel and sense of adventure she knew as a child. Many years later, Selina’s artwork has been warmly received by lovers of fantasy all over the world. Selina still resides in Australia, being self employed in painting her ideas of fantasy and selling her own artwork and handcrafted gift designs through her website www.selinafenech.com.
Her art has been published in books and magazines worldwide, and is available on licensed products ranging from t-shirts to stationery, figurines to jewelry. Her art has been purchased by customers and collectors in over 35 countries around the world, and she has lived off her art since she was 23 years old.
Selina’s artwork is mostly mixed medium, as she always tries to choose the best medium to match her painting concept, and is always experimenting. Normally her paintings are based in either watercolour or acrylics on paper, to which she also adds inks, pencil, pastels, and even digital elements to create whatever effect she desires.

Selina's Patches

Selina's Iron Ons

Selina's Canvas ACEO's

Website

Meet Rebecca Sinz

I'm a 27 year old self-taught artist from Michigan. I paint mostly fantasy related work, and my art has a tendency to lean toward dark, gothic themes. I work mainly with watercolor, watercolor pencils, ink and acrylic. Anything and everything inspires me, books, movies, music (especially heavy metal, I'm a fanatic), my own random ideas that come out of nowhere. I have loved to create for as long as I remember. I chose fantasy art because there is such an unlimited amount of possibilities. I can make anything that I imagine take form. And once I tried watercolors, I was addicted.

Rebecca's Patches

Rebecca's Iron Ons

Website

Rebecca's Etsy

Meet Pat Ann MacDougal

For over a decade, Pat Ann have applied her skills in the Story Arts as a Freelancer. She would watch her father doodle and decided one day to try it herself. She picked up a pen and her natural talent began to show itself. It took many years and several medium attempts before Kerry found her niche. One day she found a book on fairies in a book store which inspired her to try fantasy art. She hasn't stopped since!
Here is how Kerry describes herself:

I am a mom, Reiki practitioner and self-taught fantasy artist. My work has been on a gallery wall, published in a book and been made into fabric blocks and stamps. I love everything fantasy; fairies, dragons, elves and more! My work is mainly done on top quality watercolor paper using acrylics, watercolors or artist colored pencils. I really enjoy using bold colors and I like my art to tell a bit of a story. I hope you enjoy looking at my art as much as I've enjoyed creating it.

Kerry's Magical Patches

Meet Kristin Palmer

Mystic Fae Fantasy Art showcases the art of fantasy artist, Kristin Palmer. Kristin was born on April 9th in the small state of Rhode Island, where she still currently resides. Kristin has been drawing and creating art since she could hold a pencil. Her love of the fae started when she was a young child and she was introduced to the work of fellow artists, Amy Brown and Jessica Galbreth. Kristin is entirely self taught and has had no formal art training. Working almost entirely in watercolor, Kristin specializes in creating the haunting and mysterious world of the fae but she sometimes strays to creating whatever her muse happens to throw at her. As a budding artist Kristin is enthusiastically launching herself into a career as a professional artist. Kristin works at keeping her art fresh and new, and is always open to new and exciting artistic opportunities. Only time will tell what exciting things the future holds for her.

Kristin's Fabric Patches

Kristin's Iron on Transfers

Meet Joanna Bromley

I am a British self taught artist & illustrator based in Munich, Germany and specialize in the detailed and whimsical fairy/fantasy art for children and for all children at heart. I always found my inspiration from all story telling sources, starting with my Mum when she read from colourful nursery rhymes and fairy tale books. Movies, music and nature also play an important role in transporting me to other worlds and getting my imagination running wild! I always admired the fantas/fairy art of Arthur Rackham, Beatrix Potter and modern fairy/ fantasy artists such as Brian Froud and Linda Ravenscroft and many more and it is also my wish to let people fall into nostalgia whenever they look at my colourful illustrations and squeeze a smile out of them...:-)My main mediums of use are watercolours and colored pencils, alone or mixed, to get the intricate details and colors I aim for.

Joanna's Fabric Patches

Joanna's Iron Transfers

Meet Danielle Barlow

I am an artist working on Dartmoor, Devon in England, where I live with my family and a collection of dogs and horses. I come from an artistic family, and have drawn and painted from the time I could hold a pencil. I trained at art college and since then have swung between working with horses and working as an artist - there rarely seemed to be time to do both! Now, with small children at home, and a studio, I am finally managing to both paint and keep ponies. My smaller work which is offered here on etsy, is in a light, whimsical illustrative style - illustration is my first love! Larger work, which I tend to exhibit here in the UK, is usually more expressive, trying to capture the play of light and mood on the everchanging landscape, and nearly always features crows in one form or another. I have work in private collections in the UK, Canada, USA, and Europe.

Danielle's Fabric Patches

Danielle's Blog

Meet Giovanna Adams

Giovanna Adams is an award winning full-time artist living in the beautiful hills of New England, with her husband and two little pixies. In 1989 she attended The Colorado Institute of Art. It was there that she was exposed to the early works of Charles de Lint and the paintings of Brian Froud in his and Alan Lee's book "Faeries," both of which she considers a great influence in her art today. Over the years Giovanna has developed a passion for fantasy art and the world of the fey and tries to convey with her art a sense of wonder and mystery. Giovanna’s artwork is collected internationally and her images have been licensed for a variety of products sold worldwide. She began painting faeries professionally 2006 and later that year, Giovanna began to research faerie folklore in other countries across the globe and found the belief of the fey in all cultures of the world. She launched her ongoing "Faeries of Color™" series, which depicts a culturally diverse world of the fey in 2007. And coming in 2011, Giovanna hopes to share with all faerie lovers her published exploration and artwork of the worlds fey, ending the belief that the fey realm exists only in the Anglo-Saxon world. When not working on personal fey works, Giovanna also delights in illustrating children's books. Look for "Unique Bits" and “Emily and the Faeries” children’s books both written and illustrated by Giovanna, soon to be released.

Giovanna's Fabric Patches

Giovanna's Queen Kat Designs Rubber Stamps

Website

Meet Deanna Davoli

Deanna was born in a small town outside of Buffalo New York. She lived there for about 21 years, until she moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Like most kids, Deanna loved to get messy and use her hands to create anything she wanted. She did not start to experience art until high school. Deanna's imagination, music & the beautiful country she lived in all play a role in the fantasy art she creates today.

Deanna felt the desire to mentally escape & used art as her outlet. Deanna's art was dark fantasy based, and in her eyes, displayed a gothic romance. She Continued to develop her skill in college where she decided to study art education and art history. In her heart she knew teaching was not for her, but she still needed to experience it to prove to herself that she could fulfill her artistic endeavors to a higher plateau. After teaching elementary and middle school art for 4 years, Deanna left teaching children and occasionally teaches drawing classes at a community college. She has been actively painting fantasy art, murals, faux finishes and commissioned painting for the last 5 years, but overall has been painting and drawing for 16 years.

Deanna's amazing husband, Jeff helps her with so many aspects of her art business. He helps create show display, jewelry & really is her "right hand man". Without Jeff, Deanna would not be as encouraged to be the best that she can be. He not only discusses her art, but feels it, breathes it and thoroughly appreciates what she has to offer.Jeff does not like everything Deanna creates, but that is the beauty of his observation, it is true, to the point, thoughtful and never recited.

There are many artists who inspire and motivate Deanna, dead and alive, known and unknown, that a list would be a waste of time. What she can tell you that she has friends who are artists and are my main and continual forms of inspiration. Kevin Hurtack is one of her close friends who daily intrigues me with his creativity, style and devotion to art. Fellow fantasy artist Carri Travis also is a dear friend whom she shares her artistic successes, frustrations, ideas & just about anything! Some artists may sound familiar are Gustav Klimnt, Michael Parkes, Edward Muncha, NIN, Tori Amos, Bjork, Lorenna McKennit and Charles de Lint. It is the first of a long and adventurous series written by the amazing Paul Rees-Jones and illustrated by moi. Book two is currently in the works as well as a special edition, full color hardback version of the first two books combined.

In late 2009, I started contributing some of my limited edition artwork to some of the hottest Hollywood event gift lounges including the 2009 American Music Awards, the 2010 Golden Globe Awards and the 2010 Oscars. Not only was this project a huge ego boost for me (I *am* a Leo after all!) it also gained the attention of other gift lounge venues including the Mo'nique Show on BET and the SING! Benefit for Ronald McDonald Camp and Children's Hospital of LA. I was also noticed by the fine people over at Splash Magazines and now have several products featured on all 26 of their online magazines. I enjoyed doing these shows so much that I teamed up with Nikki Cutro of 13 Black Cats Designs to create The indiExhibit, a group of artists from around the world that contribute their art to the hands of Hollywood!

Shannon's Magical Products

Shannon's Stamps from QKD

Website

Introducing Jaz Higgins

For as long as I can remember I have loved anything creative - you could say I was born with a paint brush in my hand! I was always drawing and painting as a kid, but never considered art as a profession. I went to college and earned a degree in computer science. After 20 years in the business world, I have finally returned to my first love - art!

I began taking classes at the renowned Munson Williams Proctor School of Art and loved it. I feel that I am always learning and have difficulty being tied to one medium. Currently I work in acrylic, watercolor, color pencil and dabble in digital art (my computer background comes in handy).

Painting and drawing have always been my passion and I try to convey that passion in my work. My teacher and mentor always said that no painting is easy. I believe that all works of art take a little piece of myself to complete. I am happy to share that piece with you.

Creating art can be both frustrating and very very rewarding! One has to love it and I do! Lately, I have tended towards realism, but who knows where this journey may take me. I can't wait to find out.

Lynne's Magical Products

Website

Welcome Donna Antonucci

The mystical dreams that were part of all our childhoods are all too quickly lost. Through her unique vision, enchanting artwork and inspirational writing, she encapsulates the spirit of “possibility” and self-healing.

Lisa's interest in faeries really began when she was a young girl. Her mother took her for a walk behind her grandmother's house in the local woods. There were some trees that had been burnt and the area was filled with new growth and life. At the same time her mom had been reading to Lisa from a book called “The Hobbit”. In those woods she pointed out the hobbit trails and burnt trees. She said the trees had been burnt by the dragon's breath and the little dwellings and nesting areas of the local animals became the hobbit homes.

The world of enchantment came to life for Lisa. But it wasn't until years later when she met a woman who had died of an aneurism on the operating table for 6 minutes, and then came back; that Lisa's life with the faeries would emerge.

Carol had visions while on that table in the hospital, and decided to recreate as much as possible using Lisa's help. She had her paint on glass and mirrors to create the most light and illumination possible. Angels and faeries were everywhere! Her entire house was transformed and painted white with light shining brightly onto the pieces. That was in 1996. Lisa has been painting faeries ever since.

Through her unique vision, enchanting art and inspirational writing, Lisa Steinke visually embodies the spirit of possibility and self-healing. A freelance artist since 1987, Lisa's work found its fullest expression in images of faeries that she explored in a wide variety of media and physical scale. Recently, Lisa felt it was no longer enough to just paint the faeries: they were insisting on being heard. With her company, The Faerie Gathering, Lisa creates a spectrum of artwork and merchandise for a worldwide market that combines inspirational images of faeries with motivational words that are informed by her own relationship and experiences with faerie. Lisa lives with her husband, Michael and two daughters, Cloe and Rachel, in Roxborough Park, CO.

Lisa's Magical Patches - Coming soon!

Lisa's Stamps with Queen Kat Designs

Website

Meet Trish Shufelt

Trisha Leigh Shufelt is a self-taught artist, whose endeavors have led her on a varied path of creative expression. Sculptor, jewelry designer, & painter are just a few of the hats she has chosen to wear over the years. As a sculptor of whimsical mushroom characters, Trisha is often called, "the mushroom lady" by her peers & fans. Adding a bit of charm & whimsy to her ooak creations, each one is based in part on actual specimens found in nature. Meticulously hand-sculpted & painted, Trisha utilizes the finest blend of polymer clay & heat-set oil paints. Items found in nature are often used to give her pieces an overall woodsy feel. In 2009, Trisha created a pocket field guide to accompany her mushroom creations entitled, "The Mushrooms of Faerie Field Guide".

Trisha's mushrooms have been sold throughout the United States & abroad.

"Mushrooms give us a glimpse of Faerie, something we

can physically see, magically appearing overnight & oftentimes disappearing the next. The focal point of each piece is a hand painted glass stone, or Faerie Portal. Brass findings, polymer clay, natural elements & bead work often accompany these unique designs. Her pieces have sold

around the world, adorning the necks of fantasy enthusiasts & artist's alike. Welcome to my website! A little about me, I'm 36 and live in metro Atlanta! I am a self-representing artist and business owner and have been doing this for about 5 years now. I am originally from Florida, and I have been painting and drawing for a very long time.I spent a lot of time as a kid drawing on a huge chalkboard we had at home, and also was a huge fan of my magnadoodle. I liked how I could just wipe away the picture and start with something new... I guess it was a form of a sketchbook, not leaving many remnants of my beginnings... however there are some drawings on paper too from when I was a kid, I pretty much drew on anything I could get my hands on. I went to two different colleges for art, SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) and SVA (School of Visual Arts)... I have my Bachelors degree in business... but that's a longer story. I love to paint in acrylics, watercolors and I also like to mix my media... I am most known for the vibrant colors in my paintings... and have been told that my paintings make people feel happy and cheery, which in turn makes me happy and cheery!!

Christina's Magical Products

Christina's Rubber Stamps

Website

Meet Carla Lee Morrow

I am Carla Morrow, owner and artist of AcrylicDragon's Art studio. Using pencil and watercolor I create the images and wolds that only exist in my mind, and bring them to the light so that others may share and enjoy the dragons and other creatures that I see.

I have been drawing and coloring for as long as I can remember, and have always been interested in fantasy and the wolds and creatures that accompany those realms. Remember how our teachers always had us draw 'what you want to be when you grow up'? I always drew pictured of myself drawing. While other children were out playing in their yards and streets I was perfectly happy to sit alone for hours and draw. Enything with a blank surface I would draw on...including my walls. Much to the dismay of my parents lol! As a child I enrolled in every art class I could, which wasnt many. The few that I did manage to get into I quickly exelled at. Many of my teacher up though highschool would allow my extra credit for drawing sceens or creating props from the asignments we were working on.

Dragons hold a unique position in my heart. Why Dragons? They are one of the few truly universal icons and images of man kind. Every culture as far back as our kind can find, Dragons have existed. They meant different things to different peoples, but always, they were there. Some created the universe and our world, some just the lakes, rivers and oceans, and others the mountains and landscapes we call home.

Yet still others sought to destroy, and became Gods of chaos. Religion, philosophy, Myth and even History all carry shadows of the Dragon. Even in our days the dragon still has a firm grip on our waking and sleeping minds. Though the written word and even games and advertisements Dragons still fly though ours imaginations and sing in our hearts.People ask my often if i see the dragons that I put bring into the world. I do, i see them everywhere. from the movies that I watch to the books that I read. They are always there, watching us. They have just taken a different form."I will pull back the curtain to the window of Fantasy. What will you see when you peer though the glass? She holds court just outside Baltimore, Maryland USA. Describing herself as a professional creature artist, Ash has her style rooted in the realm of fantasy. She cobbles creatures together with many different mediums including: Digital, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, and oils. Most days you can find her in her studio spattered with paint and muttering to herself. She is easily distracted by shiny objects, enjoys reading and horseback riding.

Ash began her fantasy career quite by mistake painting a dragon for a friend, which she enjoyed it so much she continued to paint fantasy themed pieces. In 2005 she sold her first art piece and from there launched her first website and hosted her own first art show. Startled by her success Ash continued to expand her portfolio and started selling at local shows. In 2006 Ash began to market her artwork full time and Phoenixx Fire Studios was born. Today Ash’s work graces prints and products through out the United States and Europe.

Ash tries to find inspiration in every day things and her pets are an enormous part of that. Her character themes range from art for kids to pin ups for adults! She works in both traditional and digital medias. Her designs have a comic book and tattoo flair about them, which is not seen very often in fantasy art. She sees life from a cartoonist's point of view and it comes out that way in her designs. No two artworks are ever exactly the same! Her art started to get published back in 1989 as her talents truly started to take shape back then. She draws all the time and considers herself fortunate to have had artworks in a few shows , newspapers, magazines and books as well as several awards for her color work. Terrell is mostly self taught with recent classes for polish at "The Art Institute of Pittsburgh" for "Media Arts and Animation" and several awards at Carnegie Mellon University (during her high school years). She is both a licensed and freelance artist and her goal is to make people smile when they see her work as it makes it all worthwhile!

Terrell's Products with Kat's Magical Patches

Terrell's QKD Rubber Stamps

Website

Zazzle Store

Meet Nia Brown

I'm Nia M. I currently reside in Lawrenceville, Georgia with my loving husband of a year and a half and our two adorable cats: Jensen and Willow. My kitties provide constant inspiration for me and you will often find them in many of my paintings!I have been an artist my entire life, but began my professional fantasy art career when I began to sell ACEOs on eBay in 2006. You may have heard of them, but in case you haven't, ACEO stands for Art, Cards, Editions and Originals. They are miniature paintings measuring 2.5x3.5" and are highly collectible. I was fortunate to be well received in the ACEO community and started to grow a fan base. People started asking for originals and prints in bigger sizes and they also wanted a variety of products featuring my artwork.

So I started to branch out and over the past 5 years it has turned into something that I feel so fortunate to have now. My art is collected worldwide and I'm licensed with a variety of different companies. I have also been lucky enough to be published in a book and a few magazines and online publications. I also attend fairs and conventions across the Southeast and have recently had the privilege of having my artwork on the cover of the ImagiCon 2010 program cover!I have been asked before "Why fantasy art? And this is my response:Fantasy art is where my heart lies. I love being able to escape the reality of our world for even just a few hours and enter a new fantasy realm where witches play tricks on Halloween Night, fairies fly around the sweet smelling rosebuds, and mermaids swim gracefully through the water with their dolphin friends. I mainly use watercolor and ink to create my fantasy fairies, witches, vampires, pirates, steampunk and mermaids and offer my art in many different sizes including ACEO (2.5x3.5"), 5x7", and 8x10". I turn my original art into a variety of items to offer you a fun way to experience my art! I was first introduced to fairies when my mother read Shakespeare’s The Tempest to me and my brother. I had originally been intrigued by the fairy’s name Ariel (I thought the Little Mermaid as making a cameo), but grew to like him because he was magical and nothing like I’d ever heard of before. My mother also took me to Midsummer Night’s Dream when I was ten. There, I was introduced to Puck. Unlike the other male characters in the play, Puck had on wild makeup and green, ripped, earthy, and somewhat feminine clothes. He was spirited and mischievous and got away with everything. He sat gleefully and informally on a rock while the lovers all quarreled. He was free spirited, whimsical, and beautiful, and he is the standard I hold of all fairies.

Claire's work at Kat's Magical Patches

Website

Facebook Fan Page

Introducing Hannah Lynn

Hannah Lynn’s paintings take us from mundane to magical through the eyes of her mythical, serene, and colorful female characters. She enjoys creating all kinds of animation style creatures, animals, and scenery in a mixed media of watercolor pencil and ink, with a dab of acrylic in some. She has a special affection for mermaids, which are her most recognizable trademark. Hannah has been working in miniature art cards for the past three years but has been adding larger works to her collections in recent months, as the demand for them is increasing. You will find her work on many different products like Cross-Stitch charts, t-shirts, stickers, greeting cards, and more in a variety of online marketplaces.

Hannah is a self-taught American artist born in 1979 in Southern California and raised in Sacramento, California. She has had a deep affection for art as far back as grade school and was often found coloring, drawing, reading and writing through her younger years. Even in her earliest works of art you will find animation style characters and a focus on the female eye.

In her mid-twenties she was busy working various management jobs, attending full time college, and starting a family. She graduated with her Associate’s degree in Business in March of 2007, shortly after she embarked on her artistic career in late 2006. She began by offering original works of art in miniature through eBay and by working personal assignments. Since then, the popularity of Hannah’s artwork has grown quickly and her work can be found in various personal collections from all around the world, including the US and Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, New Zealand, France, and Australia to name a few.

Her paintings are meticulous and beautifully detailed, and take a lot of time and attention to complete, even though some appear to be simple in design. The most common compliments Hannah receives about her art are regarding her excellent use of color and the expressions on her female faces; specifically the eyes. Many people have commented that Hannah's art brings a special joy to their hearts, and that it has even helped them through some very difficult times in their lives. She values her collectors tremendously, often making new friends of them, and prides herself on first class customer service. "I am so thankful for all my collectors and fans; they are the reason that I can use my talent to bring joy to others. Without them, I wouldn't be able to dedicate my life to my art."

Aside from painting in her expert media, Hannah enjoys painting with acrylics and crafting. When she is not painting, she loves spending time with her husband and two little girls. Camping, boating, cooking, decorating, traveling, reading, and going to the movies are a few of their favorite family adventures. She also enjoys singing on the music team with her church and spending time with friends over coffee. She currently works out of her home studio in the beautiful city of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Hannah's Fabric Patches and Iron On Transfers

Facebook Fan Page

Website

Welcoming Ora Moon

I am a self-employed, independent artist. I enjoy painting fantasy-scapes in watercolor that primarily feature Faery! I am open to any free-lance offers such as book illustrations and covers, RPG, fantasy design elements, custom Faery paintings, portraits, children’s art, and graphic design. I have an Associates degree in Cosmetology and am two classes shy of an Associates degree in Horticulture. As a manicurist I spent years rendering nail art both with traditional brush and air-brush. I taught air-brush art classes in San Francisco, CA and Spokane, WA. My studies in horticulture have given me a unique insight into the rendering aspects of flora and fauna.

Ora's Fabric Blocks and Transfers coming soon!

Ora's Queen Kat Designs Stamps coming soon!

Website

About Maigan Lynn

Maigan dislikes the statement "Write a bio" so here are some fun facts about our awesome artist! I feel sad when I see a lone balloon floating away. I was born in Germany but have lived in Canada almost all of my life. I am the exact definition of Taurus. I love my inner gothling. Peacock and Ostrich feathers are divine. I never wanted to be a ballerina. I don't function well in the mornings. Fairies are real. The colour green soothes me. The colour purple makes me feel inspired and with purpose. I like THINGS like marbles, buttons, and beadsArt is eye candy and food for my soul. Painting is my best therapy.

Maigan's Iron On Transfers

Facebook Fan Page

Website

Maigan's Queen Kat Designs Stamps

Introducing Myka Jelina

Myka Jelina (Born 1973, in Gastonia N. I am not sure if it was the use of lipstick or the fact that that first mural was painted on my mother's bedroom wall. But very soon, I was kept supplied with appropriate art supplies and things to paint on. Later I honestly think my family was relieved when I changed my major from psychology to art. These days you can either find me making a mess of my home with the paint that should be going onto canvas or paper or hanging out at science fiction and fantasy conventions.

Melia's Fabric Patches

Queen Kat Designs stamps by Melia

Website

Facebook Page

Welcoming Charles Bristow

My name is Charles R. Currently she makes her home in San Diego, CA with her husband Josh and two beautiful daughters. Crystal is among a growing number of completely self taught artist without formal training. She crafts her original works mostly with watercolor, and colored pencil, but also occasionally likes to dapple in acrylics when she has an itch to cater to her spontaneous and offen bold side. Crystal began her love of art at the age of 6 when her mother came home with a few brightly colored pencils with Donald Duck erasers and pad of paper that later led to a great old desk with a lamp. Her mother soon realized that her daughter was not going to outgrow her love of fantasy ,fae and bright colors, so one day, Crystal came home to a newly decorated bedroom complete with a huge poster of a majestic faery tending her magical herd of mythical Greek horses. In her junior year of high school her art teacher took a notice of her works and encouraged her style development in a couple different mediums. Having a very thick Irish background diving head first into the world of fantasy, magic, fae Celtic lore and the occasionally thought provoking statements felt as natural as breathing. Is was the fall of 2004 when Crystal picked up her first watercolor set and paint brush and began her career as an artist with the first faery she had ever painted as a gift to her daughter. That later opened the door and muse for commissioned pieces. Today she is applauded for her ability to capture the sensual, mysterious and graceful beauty of Goddesses, Faeries, Elves and their aquatic kin and use of bold statment pieces. When asked why Crystal chose to primairly expend her artistic efforts in the genre of fantasy rather than the more popular fine art, this is what she had to say… ''I’ve been asked on a number of occasions why I chose to primarily paint images of fantasy for my artistic career. I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else. From the time I was a child lost in my own world or playing in my beloved Aunt Kathy's sunflower forest I’ve had an almost gravitational pull towards this realm. I believe in maintaining my childish enthusiasm and having fun, be it airy and light or a tad mischievous. What better way for me to do it? I have a close connection to God and Mother Nature. I've learned they are one and the same. The forests and oceans, deserts, grassy plains, to other other-worldly fae inspire me as well as all the intricate myths, legends and stories of ancient cultures long past. I look into the simplistically innocent eyes of my children and sincerely hope that my artwork reminds them as well as many other people to hold tight to your dreams and childish enthusiasms whatever they are . Know that God , magic and nature surround , inspire , and fastens itself to every detail of our lives. I acknowledge it the only way I know how, and have a ton of fun doing it .''

Crystal's Fabric Blocks

Facebook Fan Page

Website

Introducing Monika Ptok-Byard

"My job is to live in a world of fantasy and I couldn't be happier!"-Monika Ptok-Byard Born December 30, 1979 in Bangkok Thailand, Monika now resides and paints in Ontario, Canada.Fascinated by Myth and Folklore at an early age, Monika paints enchanting faeries and creature enjoyed around the world by both children and adults alike.
